Atlanta's Premier Spray Foam Insulation Source
Here at Spray Foam Insulation of Atlanta we understand that Spray Foam Insulation is the single largest advancement in ‘Green’, energy efficient insulation technology available today. The Foam we use provides a significantly quieter, more comfortable, healthier living environment, while dramatically reducing future energy costs. It is by far the best overall value for your energy efficiency investment.
Our materials manufacturing partner produces a non-toxic spray foam which has undergone extensive testing hroughout the last decade. This product reduces airborne noise and dust in the home, making it the healthy choice for those who suffer from allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivity. No toxins are emitted during preparation and installation. In addition, it contains no ozone-depleting chemicals, CFCs, HCFCs, fibers, formaldehyde or asbestos  So in summation, Spray foam is safer for you, better for your home, and safer for the enviornment.  There are 2 main types of spray foam insulation, we will give an overview of both below:

Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation Overview

Open-cell spray foam insulation is soft. The cell walls are broken, and air fills up all of the open space inside the material. The product is typically found in densities ranging from about .4 to 1.2 lbs/cu.ft. The advantage of this lower density is that it provides an economic yield, making it cheaper to apply than closed-cell foam insulation.

A few important features of open-cell insulation include:

Expands to 120x its original size
Water passes through it, making it easy to detect leaks in the roof line
Excellent noise reduction…about twice as effective as closed-cell foam

Open-cell foam is used in a range of applications, such as for noise reduction in sound rooms, home insulation, under roof trusses for conditioned attics, and more.

Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation Overview

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is highly efficient. This structural insulation makes for an incredibly effective air barrier, and with its low moisture vapor permeability, it’s highly resistant to water. Its density is typically 2 lbs/cu.ft. Closed-cell foam also offers one of the highest R-values (resistance to heat flow) of any insulation on the market.

A few other important features of closed-cell insulation include:

Increases structural strength by 120x
Can be left exposed without risk of damage
Only FEMA-approved insulation

Common applications for closed-cell insulation include wine cellars, metal buildings, containers and residential construction

Roof Insulation:
The difference between spray foam and conventional insulation is spray foam is installed on the bottom ROOF DECK and Regular insulation is installed above the ceiling in the ceiling joist. The advantage of installing insulation at the roof deck is the heat is stopped before it ever reaches the inside of the building. The advantage to the insulated attic is all of your appliances are now protected.

Wall Spray Insulation:
The walls in your home account for more surface space than the floors or the ceilings. That means they pose a high risk for air leaks, leading to high energy bills and wearing out your home’s air conditioning system.

Under Floor Spray Insulation:
The walls in your home account for more surface space than the floors or the ceilings. That means they pose a high risk for air leaks, leading to high energy bills and wearing out your home’s air conditioning system.

Sound Room Spray Insulation:
Sound control is one of the biggest benefits of the spray foam insulation we use at Eskimo Insulation. Whether you have a recording studio, a rehearsal room, a media room in your house or even a room in your office that needs to be completely quiet, we can ensure that all of that unwanted outside noise is blocked out and inaudible. We can also make sure that the sound coming from your room doesn’t travel out and disturb your neighbors.
